Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. butter
    pinch salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put the dry sugar in a skillet over high heat.
    Stir constantly until it browns lightly.
    Remove from heat, let cool a few minutes, add the other ingredients.
    Cook over medium heat until it will form a soft all when dropped into cold water. Remove from heat, add 1 Tablespoon vanilla and beat until its cool, and thick enough to spread on cake.
