Caramel Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. butter
pinch of salt
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Beat egg yolks until light and fluffy.
Add half of the sugar (3/4 cup), flour, butter, salt and milk.
Mix well and heat in top of double boiler until lukewarm, stirring occasionally.
While mixture is heating, caramelize remainder of sugar, stirring frequently.
When sugar is caramelized and boiling rapidly, pour in the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
Cook until thick. Remove from heat.
Add vanilla.
Pour cooled mixture into baked pie shell.
Top with meringue.
