Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 qt. sour cherries (fresh or frozen)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Rub in butter. Add milk. Spread batter evenly in a greased pan.
    Pour over batter the cherry and sugar mixture which has been brought to a boil. Bake 45 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Serve warm or cold with whipped cream, ice cream, milk or pudding.
