Rotkohl(Red Cabbage) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 apple, peeled and sliced
    1 small onion, sliced
    4 c. shredded red cabbage
    1/4 c. vinegar
    2 to 4 Tbsp. sugar or apple jelly
    1 or 2 minced garlic cloves
    1/2 c. red wine
    1 Tbsp. flour
Preparation
    Melt butter.
    Add apple and onion.
    Cook until soft.
    Add cabbage.
    Stir to blend.
    Add vinegar, sugar, garlic and wine. Cook covered until cabbage is tender, about 12 minutes.
    Thicken sauce with flour first, adding a little of the liquid to the flour to make a paste.
    Simmer until sauce is smooth.
    Makes 4 servings.
