Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. white vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    lots and lots of green tomatoes
    8 onions, quartered
    1/2 c. salt
    3 to 5 hot peppers
    ice
Preparation
    Quarter tomatoes.
    Place in a large pot with onions and peppers.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup salt.
    Mix. Cover with ice and let stand for 1 hour. Cook vinegar and sugar to a boil.
    Drain tomato mixture.
    Pour syrup over tomatoes and mix well. Put into jars. Place in a boil bath for 15 minutes.
