Infallible Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. sweet milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. nut meats (hickory nuts, almonds or English walnuts)
    4 egg whites
    1 1/2 c. butter
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Rub sugar and butter to a cream.
    Sift flour and baking powder together.
    Add milk and dry ingredients to sugar mixture.
    Stir in vanilla and nut meats.
    Beat egg whites until stiff froth, then fold into rest of ingredients.
    Bake in a medium oven.
    It will require about an hour to bake and should rise to full height before browning.
    I use oleo and pecans.
