Loaf Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 heaping tsp. shortening
    1 c. boiling water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 egg
    3 to 4 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening, water and salt; cool.
    Into measuring cup, put 1 teaspoon sugar, yeast and warm water; stir.
    Let rise to top of cup while first mixture cools to lukewarm.
    Combine the 2 mixtures in a bowl.
    Beat egg and add to mixture.
    Add flour, one cup at a time.
    Stir until as stiff as you can handle.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Make out in rolls or 2 loaves.
    Let loaves rise again for about 2 hours.
    Put in greased pans and bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
