Caramel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla, mixing thoroughly.
    Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well.
    Add nuts. Shape dough into two rolls, each roll approximately 1 1/2-inches high, 2 1/2-inches wide and about 7-inches long.
    Chill dough for several hours in refrigerator.
    Slice into 1/4-inch slices and bake on cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
