Kraut - cooking recipe
Ingredients

cabbage
pickling salt
pickling vinegar
sugar
Preparation

Slice or chop cabbage.
Press down into clean jars.
Add per quart:
2 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon vinegar and 1 teaspoon sugar. Fill with cold water and seal with lids.
Place in dark cool room.
A little of the water will seep out.
Takes about 2 weeks to pickle.
