Mulled Spiced Cider Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. bottled cider
    2 c. orange juice
    6 Tbsp. brown sugar
    3/4 tsp. bitters
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    6 cinnamon sticks
    2 tsp. whole allspice
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    6 pt. lime sherbet
    8 thin orange slices
Preparation
    Combine the first 8 ingredients.
    Simmer for 30 minutes. Refrigerate.
    Make 32 balls from sherbet; place in freezer on cookie sheet.
    Strain cider mixture when ready to serve; reheat. Add orange slices.
    Serve over sherbet in punch cups or clear glasses.
