Baked French Onion Soup With Cheese Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter
    6 medium onions (about 1 lb.), thinly sliced
    6 c. well seasoned beef broth (I use Campbell's)
    3/4-inch slices French or Italian bread
    butter or margarine
    grated Parmesan cheese
    salt and pepper
    2 Tbsp. brandy or dry sherry (optional)
    1/2 c. chopped parsley
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy 3-quart saucepan.
    Add onion and saute 15 minutes or until onions are tender and golden.
    Add broth.
    Bring to boil, cover and simmer 45 minutes.
