Sliced Tomatoes With Fresh Basil - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 red, ripe tomatoes, cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
    salt to taste (if desired)
    freshly ground pepper to taste
    1 c. coarsely chopped red onions (if desired)
    1 c. coarsely chopped basil
    8 Tbsp. olive oil
    4 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
Preparation
    Arrange the tomatoes neatly on a serving platter.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Add the chopped onions and basil.
    Sprinkle with the oil and vinegar and serve.
    Serves 8 to 10.
