Tennessee Fried Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 big red apples (Winesap)
    1/2 stick butter
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Select good cooking apples; cut crosswise into half slices. Put in hot skillet with melted butter and brown on both sides a little.
    Add sugar and let cook 20 minutes longer.
    Take top off to cook out some of the sugar water.
    Serve hot with bacon and biscuits as a breakfast meal.
