Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. oil or fat
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    black pepper
    1 c. water
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    2 whole bay leaves
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 c. cooked, peeled shrimp
    few drops Tabasco to taste
Preparation
    Cook onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in hot oil until tender.
    (If garlic clove is used, cook with vegetables; if powder is used, mix with dry ingredients.) Stir in flour, salt, sugar and pepper which have been mixed together.
    Add water; simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, vinegar and bay leaves. Simmer 15 minutes.
    Add shrimp and heat thoroughly.
    Serve over hot rice.
