French Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and 1 egg at a time; cream thoroughly. Add salt and vanilla; stir in alternately part of milk and 2 cups of flour.
    Mix baking powder in third cup of flour; continue milk and flour until a thick smooth batter.
    Deep fry in at least 2 inches of hot fat (400\u00b0).
    Self turning, done on second turn. (First batter, push off by finger.)
