Ingredients

2 c. milk
3 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Scald 1 1/2 cups milk.
Mix yolks with fork and add sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Mix until smooth.
Add 1/2 cup cold milk. Add scalded milk to cold mixture.
Return to the saucepan and cook over direct heat until it boils.
Cool.
Add vanilla.
Pour into dessert dishes and chill.
