French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter (no margarine)
    5 eggs
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. corn syrup
    1 loaf French bread, cut into thick slices
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of nutmeg
Preparation
    Cook butter, brown sugar and corn syrup until sugar is dissolved.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla and nutmeg. Set aside.
    Layer cut up bread on top of syrup mixture in pan.
    Pour egg mixture over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Serve warm.
    Syrup is optional. Serves 6 to 8.
