Cheese Scalloped Carrots - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 sliced, pared medium carrots
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 small onion, minced
1/4 c. flour
1/2 lb. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp. Dijon mustard
3 c. fresh bread crumbs
2 c. milk
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. celery salt
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cook carrots and set aside.
Gently cook onion
in
the butter for 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in flour, salt, mustard
and
then milk.
Cook, stirring, until smooth. Add pepper and celery salt.
In a buttered, 2 quart casserole, arrange a layer of carrots and then a layer of cheese.
Repeat until both are used.
Pour on sauce and top with bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered, 25 minutes or until golden.
Serves 8 people.
