Apple Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. cake flour, sifted
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. and 2 Tbsp. sugar
1 beaten egg
1 c. milk
1 c. finely chopped, pared apples
Preparation

Sift flour together with baking powder, add salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Cream shortening and 1/2 cup sugar in bowl.
Stir in egg. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
Fold in apples.
Fill greased muffin tin 2/3 full. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Sprinkle mixture of cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg over muffins before baking.
