Aunt Kate'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. warm applesauce
3 tsp. soda
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
2 c. raisins
3 c. flour (add enough to make a soft batter)

Preparation

Combine warm applesauce with soda; add shortening, sugar and dry ingredients.
Add raisins.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about one hour. You can add these ingredients for fruit cake: 1 pound walnut meats and one pound fruit cake mix.
Bake in loaf pans or large flat pan.
