Soft Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. light molasses
1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
Preparation

Sift the first 6 ingredients together; set aside.
Cream the butter. Add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy. Add the eggs in thirds, beating well after each addition.
Add mixture of the molasses and water gradually, mixing well.
Alternately add the dry ingredients in fourths and sour milk in thirds to creamed mixture, mixing until blended after each addition.
Pour batter into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 about 30 minutes until gingerbread tests done.
