Maple Nut Torte - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. white angel food cake mix
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
1/2 c. chopped pecans, toasted
1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preparation

Bake and cool cake as directed on package.
Remove from pan. Slice off top of cake so top is flat.
Split cake to make 2 layers.
(To split, mark side of cake with toothpicks and cut with long, serrated knife.)
Place bottom layer on serving plate.
Stir cinnamon, nutmeg, maple flavoring and pecans into whipped topping. Spread 1 1/2 cups of topping mixture over bottom layer.
Place other layer on top.
Frost top and side of cake with remaining topping mixture.
Garnish with pecan halves, if desired.
Makes 12 servings.
