Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 pkg. yeast
    1 c. water
    1 c. milk
    3 tsp. shortening
    salt to taste
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    flour
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. warm water
Preparation
    Mix 1 teaspoon sugar in warm water; let dissolve and add yeast.
    Put milk (lukewarm) in bowl.
    Add water and yeast mixture. Add 2 tablespoons sugar, shortening, salt and enough flour to make stiff batter.
    Let rise to double in bulk.
    Knead, cut into rolls and let rise until double in bulk.
    Cook.
