Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 qt. plain popped corn (1 c. unpopped corn, popped in 1/2 c. oil yields 5 qt. popped corn)
    1 c. raw peanuts (optional)
    1 c. margarine
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. light Karo syrup
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Pop corn.
    Place in dishpan.
    Combine butter, sugar and syrup in a large pan; bring to a boil.
    Boil 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often.
    Remove from heat and add salt, soda and vanilla.
    (It will foam.)
    Pour over popcorn and stir to coat.
    Bake in oven at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    Can be doubled or tripled.
