Ingredients

1/8 tsp. cream of tartar (optional)
4 egg whites (room temperature)
1/2 c. sugar
Preparation

Stir cream of tartar into egg whites in large mixing bowl very briefly.
Beat at highest speed until whites stand in firm peaks but are not dry.
Sprinkle tablespoons of sugar on whites slowly, beating continuously until sugar is used.
