Black Walnut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 well beaten egg yolks (save whites for meringue)
    2 c. milk or Milnot
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. butter
    1 c. chopped black walnuts
    1 baked 9-inch pie shell
Preparation
    Sift together sugar, flour and salt.
    Blend in milk and egg yolks.
    Cook in double boiler until thickened.
    Cool before adding walnut meats, vanilla and butter.
    Pour into 9-inch baked crust. Bake in a 450\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Top with meringue and brown.
