Ingredients

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg and vanilla.
If you desire colored cookies, add 1 teaspoon food coloring to creamed ingredients.
Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture and blend well.
Chill for 1 to 2 hours for easier rolling.
