Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. dark vinegar
    1/3 c. coarse salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. dry mustard
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
    cucumbers
    onions
Preparation
    Mix and heat all ingredients, except cucumbers and onions, until the sugar has dissolved.
    Pour over sliced cucumbers and onions in gallon jug and let stand in refrigerator for 2 weeks.
