Mother'S Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 c. brown sugar (1/2 dark, 1/2 light)
    1 egg
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. pecans, finely chopped
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg and mix well, then add dry ingredients and nuts.
    Divide dough into 4 parts.
    Shape into long rolls, each roll will be approximately 1-inch in diameter and about the length of the width of wax paper.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 11 minutes.
    Yields 2 (1 pound) coffee cans.
    A good cookie for mailing.
