White Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1/3 c. white corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. quartered candied cherries
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 c. sour cream
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan.
    Bring to a boil slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Boil, without stirring, over medium heat for 236\u00b0 on candy thermometer or until mixture dropped in cold water forms a soft ball.
    Remove from heat.
    Do not stir for 15 minutes.
    Add vanilla and beat until mixture starts to lose its gloss (about 8 minutes).
    Stir in the cherries and walnuts.
    Quickly pour into a shallow pan (greased).
    Cut into squares when cooled.
