Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. scalded milk
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 tsp. butter
2 egg whites
3/4 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2 egg yolks
1/2 recipe pastry
Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add heated milk slowly and cook in a double boiler until thickened.
Add egg yolks and butter.
Reheat.
Add flavoring and cool.
Beat egg whites.
Fill crust with filling.
Cover with meringue and brown in oven.
