Spiced Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 lb. boneless beef rump roast
    2 c. sweet cider
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 to 3 whole cloves
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 onion, sliced
Preparation
    Place meat in a large bowl.
    In a small bowl, mix cider, brown sugar, cloves, ginger and cinnamon; pour over meat.
    Cover and refrigerate 24 hours.
    Remove meat from marinade and pat dry with paper towel.
