Delicious Italian Strufoli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs (room temperature)
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Mix together.
    Now add water, a little at a time (just enough to hold together).
    If too sticky, add a little more flour.
    Roll dough into a ball.
    Now cut off small pieces; roll the small pieces into a long roll.
    Cut into 1/2-inch pieces; fry in hot fat until golden brown.
    Put into a deep bowl; pour warm honey or maple syrup until well coated.
