Chocolate Banana Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. mashed bananas
2/3 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped pecans
Chocolate Frosting (recipe follows)
Preparation

Place chocolate
in
top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
Reduce
heat
to
low; cook until chocolate melts. Set aside to
cool.
Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating well with
an
electric
mixer.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after
each addition.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt;
add
to
creamed
mixture
alternately with banana, buttermilk
and
melted
chocolate,
beginning
and ending with flour mixture.
Mix
well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla and pecans.
Spoon batter into
3
(9-inch) greased and floured round cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick
inserted
in center comes out
clean.
Cool
in
pans
10 minutes;
remove from pan and
cool
completely.
Spread Chocolate Frosting between layers and on top and sides of cake.
