Date Roll(Very Good) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/2 stick butter
    1 lb. stoned dates
    1 lb. shelled pecans
Preparation
    Boil sugar, milk and butter until it forms a soft ball in water.
    Put in the dates and beat for about 3 minutes.
    Remove from fire.
    Add the pecans and beat until it is beginning to get firm. Take it from the pan and roll it in a damp towel to shape it into a roll. When it is cold and firm, slice it into pieces, 1/2-inch thick.
