Grandma Hill'S Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Great Northern Beans
    1 can (14 oz.) whole or crushed tomatoes
    approximately 1 c. sugar per 1/2 lb. beans
    bacon
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Boil beans in enough water to more than cover for two hours. (May have to keep adding water; do not boil rapidly.)
    Then, let soak for 1 hour.
    Put beans in casserole dish.
    Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
    Pour bean water over beans to cover; add bacon.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until beans are soft.
