1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. seeded raisins
1 lb. chopped pecans (about 4 c.)
1 tsp. vanilla

Before you start, sample the rum and check for quality.

Now go ahead.
Select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. and check the rum again for quality.
It must be just right.
Try it again.
With an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon sugar and beat again.
