Doris' Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. bran
    4 c. all-bran cereal
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. melted shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    4 beaten eggs
    1 qt. buttermilk
    5 c. unsifted flour
    5 tsp. soda (baking)
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients; place in covered bowl (or 4 quart jars) in refrigerator.
    Bake as desired at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Batter keeps in refrigerator 6 weeks.
