Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Cream shortening.
    Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
    Blend in molasses.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, soda, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with hot water. Turn into well-greased 9-inch square pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
