French Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. soft shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
6 Tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Combine shortening, half of the sugar, and egg; mix thoroughly.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Stir into egg mixture alternately with milk.
Beat well after each addition.
Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately roll in melted butter and then in mixture of remaining sugar and cinnamon.
Serve hot.
