Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    2 (4 oz.) boxes instant vanilla pudding, mix and chill
    3 bananas
    2 cans cherry pie filling
    2 (16 oz.) cans fruit cocktail, drained
    1 c. pecans
    2 (6 oz.) cans coconut
    2 (8 oz.) containers Cool Whip
    2 cans crushed pineapple, drained
Preparation
    Bake cake according to directions in 2 round pans.
    Cool. Using a 6-quart punch bowl, place 1 cake layer (broken) in bowl. Add 1/2 of each of the other ingredients in this order:
    pudding, bananas, pie filling, fruit cocktail, pineapple, nuts, coconut and Cool Whip.
    Repeat layers; chill.
    Decorate with maraschino cherries and nuts, if desired.
