Roman Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/8 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. cloves (optional)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2/3 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. raw apples
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    2 tsp. flour
    1/4 c. rolled oats
Preparation
    Combine in mixing bowl sugar, flour, salt, baking powder, soda, cloves and cinnamon.
    Beat in shortening, eggs, milk and vanilla.
    Add 3 cups raw apples, pared and chopped.
    Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Crumble together melted margarine, cinnamon, brown sugar, flour and oats.
    Place on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
