Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream together sugar and egg.
Melt shortening and add molasses, flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt.
Mix all together.
Chill for 1 hour.
Roll in small balls and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen.
