Peanut Butter Pie No. 1 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1/2 c. chopped Tift County peanuts
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk, scalded
    3 egg yolks, beaten (save whites for meringue)
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked pie shell
Preparation
    Combine powdered sugar, peanut butter and peanuts until consistency of
    biscuit
    mix.
    Spread
    1/2
    of this mixture on baked
    crust bottom.
    Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt and milk and mix
    well.
    Add
    gradually
    to
    beaten
    egg yolks and cook until thickened.
    Add
    butter
    and vanilla and carefully pour custard over
    mixture in baked crust.
    Top with meringue, made with 3
    egg whites and 6 tablespoons sugar.
    Sprinkle meringue with balance of
    peanut butter mixture and bake at 325\u00b0 until lightly browned.
