Louisiana Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. pecans (optional)
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 small bottle vanilla extract (8 oz.)
    1 small bottle lemon extract (8 oz.)
Preparation
    Cream butter and shortening.
    Add sugar and cream until fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture alternately with milk.
    Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours.
    Remove from oven, leave in pan and cover tightly with dry towel until cold, for at least one hour.
