Herbed Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large ripe tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. coarse black pepper
    1/2 tsp. marjoram
    1/4 c. finely snipped parsley
    1/4 c. snipped chives
    2/3 c. salad oil
    1/4 c. tarragon vinegar
Preparation
    Peel tomatoes.
    Cut crosswise in half.
    Place in deep bowl, sprinkling each layer with seasoning and herbs.
    Combine oil and vinegar.
    Pour over tomatoes, tilting bowl so all tomatoes are covered.
    Cover.
    Chill an hour or so, occasionally spooning dressing over tomatoes.
    Drain off excess dressing and arrange tomato halves on a platter.
    Serves 6.
