Iona'S Sunday Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box lemon or pineapple cake mix
    1 small box banana instant pudding
    2 c. milk
    8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
    3 to 4 ripe bananas
    1 (16 oz.) Cool Whip
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1/2 c. walnuts, chopped fine
Preparation
    Mix cake mix as directed on package; bake 20 minutes on a large cookie sheet.
    Cool.
    Combine pudding mix, milk and cream cheese; beat until thick and well blended; spread on cooled cake. Layer well-drained crushed pineapple on pudding mixture.
    Top with thinly sliced bananas.
    Cover bananas with Cool Whip.
    Spoon pie filling over Cool Whip and sprinkle chopped walnuts on top. Refrigerate 3 hours.
    Best if served same day.
