Butter Wafers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter/margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream butter or margarine until soft; gradually add 1 cup of sugar.
    Blend together until light and creamy.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Sift flour.
    Stir the flour gradually into the butter mixture.
    Shape dough into 1/2-inch balls.
    Place on greased baking sheet.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven until the edges are light brown (about 8 minutes).
    Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
