1 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 2/3 c. (10 oz.) Reese's peanut butter chips
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
Gradually blend into creamed mixture.
Stir in peanut butter chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 9 minutes.
(Do not overbake; cookies will be soft.
They will puff while baking and flatten when cooling.)
Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
Cool completely.
Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
