Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 c. dry bread crumbs
    1 c. sugar
    4 c. milk, scalded
    4 slightly beaten eggs
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Soak bread in milk 5 minutes. Add butter, salt and sugar. Pour slowly over eggs. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased baking dish and bake in pan of hot water at 350\u00b0 until firm, approximately 1 hour. (Add 1/2 cup raisins, if desired before baking.) Serves 8.
